These fluffy Turkey Red Wheat Pancakes are a delicious way to start the day. Turkey Red Wheat Pancakes
Makes about 12 pancakes
Ingredients
- 2 cups Turkey Red Wheat Flour
- 4 tsp baking powder
- 1 Tbsp sugar
- ½ tsp salt
- 2 eggs
- 1¾ cups milk
- 2 Tbsp melted butter
Directions
- In a large bowl, whisk together the Turkey Red Wheat Flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs and milk until combined.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir just until combined. A few lumps are perfectly fine.
- Gently stir in the melted butter.
- Let the batter rest for 5 minutes to allow the whole grain flour to hydrate.
- Heat a lightly greased griddle or skillet over medium heat.
- Pour about ¼ cup batter per pancake onto the hot griddle.
- Cook until bubbles form on the surface and the edges begin to set, about 2–3 minutes.
- Flip and cook for an additional 1–2 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Serve warm with butter, maple syrup, or your favorite toppings.
