This is the perfect recipe to showcase the superior flavor and texture of fresh stone-ground Turkey Red wheat!
Ingredients

1 ½ cups warm water
-
⅓ cup extra virgin olive oil
-
⅓ cup honey
-
2 tsp. salt
-
1 egg
-
1 Tbs. instant yeast
-
4 ¾ cups whole wheat flour
Directions
Wisk together water, oil, honey, salt, and the egg in a large mixing bowl.
Add in 2 cups flour and mix thoroughly.
Add yeast and the remaining 2 ¾ cups flour and mix into a rough dough.
Knead with a dough hook until smooth for approximately 10 minutes. Dough will be stickier than traditional flour doughs.
Cover dough and let rise until doubled.
Shape dough into 24 small rolls and place on greased or lined cookie sheet.
Let rolls rise again until doubled.
Bake rolls for 8-10 minutes at 400 degrees.
